TEST!

Grade 7 students will be having a math test tomorrow on adding and subtracting integers.
After that, we will help the Kindergarteners finish baking their gingerbread cookies. Then in the afternoon, we will practice Christmas concert.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

The students spent two periods practising songs for the Christmas concert today. Please come out and watch them perform Friday, December 18th at 7:00 p.m.
The Grade 7/8 class also decided today that they would like to have a Chinese gift exchange on December 22, the last day of school before Christmas holidays. The price limit is $10. Students may bring gifts to school on either Monday, December 21 or Tuesday, December 22.
In ELA, each of the students was partnered with a Kindergarten student. The purpose of this partnership is to create a story of each Kindergartener's day. Can't wait to see the end product!
Parent-teacher interviews will be on Wednesday, December 9 and Thursday, December 10 from 5:00 - 8:30 both evenings.
Lastly, early dismissal for the month of December is this Thursday (December 10).

Globe Theatre

Today the class travelled to Regina. The purpose of our trip was to take in Globe Theatre's production of "Peter Pan." It was a new experience for many but all seemed to enjoy it. Just a reminder that Thursday, November 19 is early dismissal.

Halloween

Today is an exciting day at Springside School. We are celebrating Halloween! The Grade 7/8 class has been busy creating a haunted house this past week. During the Halloween Carnival this afternoon, students will tour through the house. I also have a special surprise to share with the class. We will be enjoying a spider cake that's guts gush from it as it is cut! How cool is that?!?

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Today I accompanied three delegates from our class to the student leadership conference in Saltcoats. Each student attended three sessions as well as participated in numerous leadership activities. The students will share some of these activities with the rest of our students at the next school-wide assembly. I have a feeling that the gymnasium will be very 'spirited' next assembly!
